Shared Pattern #5 : Kitty Bag

I know its a long gap between my pattern shares. I was super busy with my other works. So sincerely apologize. But I'm very happy it took this long. I came across this beautiful pattern. It has both the concept of graphgan and a becomes a useful bag. This is a great beginning for starters who wants to try hands on crochet graphghan. Small projects like these will initiate more to work on graphghans for beginners. I hope you will love working on this.

Shared Pattern #3 : Vintage Beach Crochet Bag

For today's pattern share I chose this beautiful Vintage Beach Crochet Bag by Anoo's Crochet World.

I came across this bag sometime early last year. The instructions were so clear and I loved the fact it had a proper lining which helps the bag from being loose and sloppy. I wanted to recreate the same, but as days went on my idea of doing this bag changed. I came up with a hooty bag. You can try your own creation by following the blog.

And what a coincidence, today Moogly has shared this beautiful website which clearly instructs on how to line a crocheted bag.

Owl Shoulder bag

I'm fan of bags. Maybe I inherited this quality from my mom. After her demise, we took all her clutches, purses and bags and stored in a box and never looked at it again. But after many years when we took a look at her collections, it was very memorable. My dad found a torn 100 rupee note and he still preserves it as a treasure. Such a lovely memory of my mom.

This owl bag will be on my favorite's list for a very long time. It took me more than 4months to complete. Now don't think its that touch a pattern. Certainly not :). Its that block that comes inbetween every crochet  project and I also went through it. :D

I got inspiration to start this project from this blog post by Annoo's Crochet World. 

I followed all the instructions in that blog to sew the lining for the bag and from there though my intention was to replicate the same pattern, it did not end that way. I wanted to crochet an owl bag with crocodile stitch in it to give a feel of feathers. Even that did not happen. The attempt was a huge failure and the bag went totally out of proportion wrt to size. Then I decided to go with simple treble crochet and even that came out to be out of shape. It started with a treble crochet and slowly changed it to simple double crochet and went round and round with my choice of yarns. Then gave the shape for eyes and nose and finally finished it. For the handle I went with a simple button hole stitch around the two sides of the handle and kept it simple. Lastly I hand sewed a zip to the bag to ensure it does not stay open . 

Though I kept this project idle for a very long time, something made me go back to the project and that drive never stopped and finished this bag.

I always love small little purses. So when I got inspiration for this purse, I tried to create my own pattern. I added some appliques and stickers which I loved it. :)

Tara - Indidoll

I first met Tara and Mani at last Sunday Soul Sante, a mecca for hand crafted goodies.. I was so impressed with her look and the dress. She was like a girl next door. Every little girl's imaginary friend. Like every little girl, I (grown up little girl) also wanted to share my little secrets to my imaginary friend. I bet she will not gossip my little secrets ;)

I really wanted to design something for her. So I contacted the Indidoll team. They were absolutely friendly and wanted to give a try. After 2 hectic weeks, I came up with a line of little patterns exclusively for her. (Patterns are shared only with Tara as of now.. ). Met the team yesterday and they liked few of my items I designed for Tara. Even more happy to share, she will be wearing few of these accessories this Sunday Soul Sante that is going to happen on Oct 27th.

Wishing the sweet little bond between Apple of my Eye and Tara continues :)

Petal Square Granny Purse

I came across this pattern in one of Annie's books. I forgot from which book but I liked the pattern very much and tried one immediately and saved it . The way it came out made me do one more and converted it two a girl's purse.

Materials Required:

Yarn: 4 ply baby blue acrylic yarn and 4 ply blood red acrylic yarn

Racy Yarn bags

This Navarathri was super duper busy. 10days went just like that. I was completely engaged with the traditional activities and one list of friends visiting our home every day. This time, I actually didn't have a count of how many bags I crocheted as goodie bags. Apart from my usual goodie bags, I purchased this wonderful racy yarns from Craft Refill, it gave an absolute justification for my festival theme. I crocheted two bags for two lovely girls. The pattern is very very simple which can be seen below.

Scrap yarns to Colorful bag
